La Iglesia El Rufugio a Bilingual Church
Through Divine connections Refuge Church was birthed during Hurricane Maria recovery efforts. It was birthed in a garage in one of the hardest hit communities in Puerto Rico. Pastor Angela was conducting worship in a local shelter near Ingenio when one of storm victims asked her to conduct a church service in her home. This was her way of celebrating her families safety and return to their home.
Those services continued and a house was given to the church. Apostle Jimmy Squires sent teams to Puerto Rico to restore the house so it could be a church building. Refuge Church has become a launching pad for recovery efforts and evangelism. The church has a mission house that can host ministry teams and missionaries to Puerto Rico. Teams have conducted medical clinics that served over 1,500 citizens, purity conferences in local schools with more than a 1,000 youth, church construction and repair projects, and worship and evangelism efforts. In 2023 the focus will be establishing Refuge Church as a House of Prayer. We are bringing heaven to earth through prayer.
